Software engineering intern

Agurotech delivers game-changing innovation to revolutionize the farming industry. IoT sensors, smart applications and data will push the future of farming to the next level. The growing demand for food and the need to do this more sustainably will significantly change the way farming is done. More and more farmers are adopting precision farming and smart agriculture through hand-held devices to unlock data and provide efficiency to day-to-day work. For example: sensors in the field continuously monitor soil conditions and send these to farmers’ smart phones so they can remotely monitor crop growth. Agurotech develops high-tech solutions to help farmers increase their productivity and optimize use of resources and we are looking for a software engineer to join our team.

Our technology employs advanced algorithms and proprietary concepts in order to achieve our stringent requirements. Effective interaction between the various hardware components, cloud and user facing software systems is crucial for the robust and reliable performance of our products. This brings with it a range of engineering challenges, which require cutting edge and creative solutions.

As intern you will work with our team of software engineers and support them in the development of our software applications for data driven advice for farmers and growers. This will include new feature implementation and technical (field) support. You will support work on our Agri-Tech software suite, which means taking on responsibilities for new functionality development and systems integration from hardware devices to user experience.

Your profile
  • Creative thinker who can work well independently and within a team.
  • Quick to grasp complex technical concepts and relate them to practical applications.
  • Good analytical and social skills.
  • Critical, enthusiastic with a positive mentality.
  • Applicable working visa for the European Union.

Education and experience
  • Bachelor (3th or 4th year) or Masters Degree in computer science, engineering or other relevant study field.
  • Software development experience with at least one of programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, Go or Python. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated software engineering experience through previous work experience or internships is preferable.
  • Proficiency in the English language.
